New York sets December effective date for matrimonial paper transmission rule
A court administrative order dated October 8 adds a rule on transmitting matrimonial papers to county clerks effective December 1, 2026.

Administrative Order AO/298/26 adds 22 NYCRR 202.16-d, effective December 1, 2026. It directs Supreme Court to deliver or transmit papers and orders in covered matrimonial actions to the county clerk and defines the covered actions, including certain custody and support matters. The effective date is after this pilot’s October 27 cutoff; the order is an adopted future-effective procedural development, not a change to the substantive standards.
